Functional Medicine testing and treatment

Functional medicine is a relatively new, cutting-edge term that describes state of health in which the line between health and disease has been blurred, neither completely healthy nor diseased. This is an answer for those patients who are left undiagnosed and desperate for someone to address their particular symptoms.

Functional medicine assesses the patient's current neurophysiology, musculoskeletal status, and biochemistry to determine which system is malfunctioning. An unique treatment plan is then developed utilizing neurological, physiotherapy, and nutrition therapies. The plan is unique to that patient, and is not the same as the next patient's plan. This approach applies for any condition from traumatic injury to headaches to low back pain.

We utilize many diagnostic tools to evaluate the patient's physiology, including but not limited to:
  • height and weight
  • blood pressure
  • pulse oxygen level
  • strength testing
  • reflex testing
  • orthopedic testing
  • cranial nerve testing
  • optokinetic testing
  • postural analysis
  • neurotransmitter assessment
  • autoimmune assessment
  • hormonal assessment
  • food allergy assessment
  • biochemical assessment
We use the following treatments to specifically treat the patient's condition:
  • exercise with oxygen therapy
  • spinal decompression
  • vibration therapy
  • optokinetic therapy
  • rotary vestibular therapy
  • ocular movement therapy
  • olfactory (smell) therapy
  • chiropractic adjustments
  • electrical stimulation
  • hot/cold pack therapy
  • ultrasound
  • nutritional/dietary modifications
  • nutritional supplementation
