Have you ever wondered why your back pain gets worse or keeps coming back, its called procrastination? Back pain, neck pain, musculoskeletal pain and daily aches and pains are only symptoms and not the cause of your pain. Don’t cover your symptoms by avoiding them and hope they will go away. Pain is an indicator from your body telling you there is something wrong. Sure you can take drugs, medications, which shut off the brains from feeling pain, but the pain usually returns later.
Your body has a build in natural pain removal system designed with built in functions, which automatically repairs body symptoms when something goes wrong. One of those systems is PAIN! If pain persists you need to find a professional that can zero in on your particular problem and evaluate your symptoms.
Did you know another major cause of back pain is a lack of regular maintenances such as exercise and daily activity, which is often avoided due to instability or pain. You have seen the specialist, back doctor, or even considered surgery, but the pain persists. Your not alone millions of people suffer from back pain, sciatica, neck pain, headaches, degeneration and other conditions, but many take action steps to find the cause, reduce or eliminate their pain and symptoms.
Each year Americans spend more than one-tenth of their out-of-pocket health-care dollars on alternative medicine. Chiropractors and massage therapists are the leading alternative health-care practitioners. People in pain are looking for doctors that listen to what they have to say, become partners with them in resolving their symptoms. We live in a society that is filled with daily stress and demands. With the high-tech gadgets in our lives, we often forget to listen to our high-tech bodies.
It is estimated consumers spent over 25 billion dollars each year on alternative health-care. Chiropractic is the leading alternative health-care system with more than 33% of adults using some form of alternative health-care. Very few people that if given a choice would decide to have painful surgery or take lots of medication to reduce pain or injury or disease.
With the wide world acceptance of chiropractic medicine all that has changed. Chiropractors are trained in the holistic approach to treat the whole body. Keep in mind when one body system is struggling with an injury, the whole body is affected. Doctors of Chiropractic have helped countless people enjoy a renewed level of physical health and are able to help their patients on any age and fitness level. Chiropractors train for 6-7 years of total college education in basis sciences, clinical sciences, anatomy, physiology, nutrition, radiology, neurology, orthopedics, diagnosis, musculoskeletal systems and the nervous system.
If you have never explored the benefits of chiropractic or just haven’t seen one in a while, the time has never been better. Make your decision to treat your symptoms through effective care. Chiropractic medicine is worth looking into before you undergo painful surgery with its sometime long term health effect or taking medication to hide your symptoms or pain.

1. I have been told that Chiropractic care can makes me worse?
With any treatment, medical or chiropractic, there are potential risks.
Chiropractic care is very safe, however the key to safe and effective care
is the information the doctor collects about you. This may include history,
consultation, examination, x-rays and past medical records. These are
usually performed on your first visit. The more detailed information
gathered by the doctor the better he will be able to identify your problem
and help you. As a patient you should be aware of all your treatment
options through an informed consent to treat, which your doctor will
supply to you and answer any questions you may have. Once all the
information is gathered, the doctor will give you a report of findings to
discuss recommended care. All procedures and information gathered by
your doctor are done to keep you safe and make your care enjoyable.
2. What do Chiropractors treat?
Doctors of Chiropractic treat a variety of problems and symptoms. Mainly
they treat musculoskeletal problems such as neck, upper and mid back
pain, low back pain, sciatica, headaches and problems that affect the
muscles, joints and nerves. Chiropractors also treat whiplash, motor
vehicle accident and workers compensation cases. Many people who see
chiropractors use them exclusively for all their health needs. Many times
chiropractors will work in conjunction the patient and the patients
primary doctor to assure their medical needs are met.
3. How much education does a Chiropractor have?
Doctors of Chiropractic complete schooling in the form of a bachelors
degree prior to attending chiropractic school. Chiropractic school is 4
years in length and almost 4,500 hours of instruction in basic sciences,
anatomy, pathology, chemistry, nutrition, manipulation, physiology, and
many other courses leading to a Doctor of Chiropractic degree. Generally
the first two years of chiropractic and medical school are almost the
same. Medical school is about 4,300 hours of instruction for 4 years. This
does not include any post chiropractic or medical instruction.
4. Are the adjustments painful?
Chiropractic adjustments or manipulations are safe and effective
movements involving the joints in the spine and the rest of the body.
Chiropractors use their hands or adjusting tools for this purpose.
Adjustments affect the joints, and restore normal position and movement
to the areas adjusted.. Once this is done the spine and nerves function
better. The nervous system is like the engine in your care, if the engine
is not working you can't expect the rest of the care to work. Sometimes
you are sore following an adjustment. This happens because the joint
has been irritated for so long, when an adjustment is made to begin
correction, you get a little sore. This is usually only experienced on the
first or second treatment. The noise, cracking, or popping sound you
heard when an adjustment is from gases being released . Just like when
you crack you knuckles.
5. Can chiropractic adjustments be done if I have spinal disease or had
past surgery?
In most cases the answer is yes. This is why the consultation and
examination is so important. It will determine if you are candidate for
chiropractic care.
6. Do I need x-rays?
X-rays are taken for several reasons, one is for your safety and the other
is to determine old or new fractures, degeneration, arthritis, and other
problems that may be affecting you. X-rays can also are part of the overall
examination your doctor will perform to determine the best possible care
for you.
7. Does insurance cover chiropractic?
With a very few exceptions, chiropractic is covered by insurance. This
includes managed care, automobile, workers compensation (work
Injuries), medicare, and all major insurance companies.
8. Injured in a car or work related accident? Know your rights.
