Alexandria Chiropractor Offers Back Pain Relief

Chiropractor, Dr. Philip Connolly, and all of us here at the Spine Care Associates of Alexandria chiropractic clinic want to make our new patients feel at home right from the start. We understand that our new patients sometimes feel nervous about their first visit, so our goal here is to help everyone relax. This section of the website describes what to expect on a first visit, explains some of the services we provide our patients, and also provides the forms our new patients need to fill out. New patients can fill these forms out ahead of time, in the comfort of their own home, so that the whole check-in process is faster and less stressful.

Chiropractor Dr. Philip Connolly has been helping patients overcome back pain, neck pain, sciatica, and herniated disc problems since 1991 through his advanced chiropractic techniques that diagnose and treat structural and functional problems within the spine. He takes time to get to know each patient personally so that he can provide the best, most personalized care possible. Using spinal decompression, hands-on Spinal Manipulative Therapy (SMT) and myofascial release techniques that retrain the soft tissue and the muscles supporting the spine, Dr. Connolly is able to provide a back treatment tailored to the needs of each patient.

In addition to our chiropractor, we are pleased to have three licensed and certified massage therapists working with us. Far from being just a “feel-good” experience, the skilled massage modalities that our therapists offer are extremely effective for pain relief and in helping patients progress in their healing from back pain, neck pain, sciatica, and herniated disc issues. We offer deep tissue and sports massage, myofascial release, Swedish massage, trigger point therapy and more. Our therapists tailor each session to the precise needs of the patient in order to help reduce pain and inflammation, increase circulation, restore range of motion, remove toxins from the body and relax the entire body to aid in injury recovery.

We also have a Certified Holistic Health Counselor on staff who is trained to help patients discover their bodies’ individual nutrition and dietary needs for optimum health and energy. In many cases, a course of spinal decompression, or any other pain relief or back treatment would not be complete without examining how the fuel we put into our bodies (food) affects the healing process.

Because we believe in healing the whole person and not just the back pain, we combine all of our shared experience and expertise to help patients emerge from each appointment feeling better and better.
