Macronutrients are important for a healthy body. We absorb these nutrients from the foods we eat. But why wait for food to go through the metabolic process. By drinking your nutrients in a liquid form, your body will get the benefit of vitamins and minerals much faster and in a purer form.
Try a delicious drink mix of fruits and vegetables. Fresh from your kitchen instead of one that has been bottled for weeks. The following recipe is an example of a drink that Dr. Durham makes. But you may experiment with your own. Try 1-2 fruits and vegetables combination or multiple fruits and vegetables together. You can reach your daily recommended servings of fruits, vegetables and dietary fiber in 1-2 8 oz drinks per day.
Begin by adding liquid first. Your choice of pure juice-orange, cherry (reduces inflammation), water or organic silk, rice, almond milk. Also, you may sprinkle protein powder, or flaxseed powder or oil, chia seeds etc. into your mixture.
Then add diced or chopped fruits and vegetables:
½ cup kale (may substitute or add brocolli and/or spinach)
¼ cup chopped apples
1 – 4 strawberries
¼ cup spinach
¼ cup organic Yogurt
1cup ice cubes (add more if you like a smoothie)
Blend to desired consistency. The blending can be key. You might need to invest in a good blender such as the Blendtec blender.
Other fruits that can be combined are: Fresh or frozen (fresh is usually better). Pineapple, Kiwi, Blueberries, Raspberries,
Other vegetables: ¼ Celery, ¼ cup cucumbers, spinach, chard, beets.
If the drink is too bitter add blue agave, organic raw sugar, or honey. Enjoy! 1-2 8oz glasses a day will help you to feel better, less fatigued, and more energetic. I recommend 1-2 x a day for 1 month.
